We're looking for a skilled and proactive Mechnical / Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. You'll play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability of our manufacturing equipment, facilities, and support systems. Working within a fast-paced production environment, you'll use your electrical and mechanical expertise to minimise downtime, drive continuous improvement, and support a strong culture of safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and plant services.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults efficiently.
Support production teams by responding quickly to breakdowns and minimising downtime.
Use the CMMS maintenance system to record work, manage maintenance activities, and improve asset reliability.
Maintain plant facilities and ancillary services to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Contribute to and support preventative maintenance programmes, helping create a best-in-class maintenance environment.
Champion safe working practices and ensure compliance with all relevant electrical regulations, including IEEE, BS7671 Wiring Regulations and Electricity at Work Regulations.
Support engineering projects, installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve reliability, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
Complete accurate maintenance records, fault reports, and project documentation.
Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and site teams to achieve business objectives.
Operate workshop equipment including lathes and milling machines, or be willing to develop these skills.
Flexibly support the business through overtime and shift coverage when required.

Qualifications:

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

Completed a recognised Mechanical/Electrical or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.
Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
Knowledge of engineering regulations and safe working practices.
Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Passion for continuous improvement and delivering high standards of work.

Desirable

HNC/ONC or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Maintenance Engineering.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
Experience with AC and DC drives.
Basic PLC fault-finding knowledge, particularly Siemens systems.
Experience with project engineering activities.
Competence using workshop machinery such as lathes and milling machines to manufacture components and tooling.
