We are recruiting dedicated Cover Teachers to join the Novus delivering high-quality education in secure environments. This is your opportunity to inspire learners and make a real impact while enjoying flexible work, holiday pay, pension contributions, and development.

These roles are offered on an ad-hoc basis under zero-hour contracts, giving you the flexibility while contributing to improving lives.

We have opportunities at the following establishments in the North East region:

HMP Deerbolt in Barnard Castle, HMP Durham and HMP Frankland in Durham, HMP Full Sutton in York, HMP Holme House in Stockton, HMP Kirklevington Grange in Yarm, HMP Low Newton in Durham, and HMP Northumberland in Amble

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education providers as a Cover Teacher. This position is offered on a permanent Ad-hoc basis. This is a zero-hour contract.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/ Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or commit to work towards within a specified timeframe (Applies to Teachers in YOI only)
Creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
Achievement of quality targets
Producing accurate and timely reports
