At Devonvale Bakery, we’re known for our flapjacks, cakes, and bars, supplying across foodservice and retail. We are now building the next chapter of our story — expanding into modern, functional, and premium snacking products. As part of this journey, we’re looking for a Quality & Technical Manager to lead food safety, technical standards, and daily quality control across our site.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading and managing all quality and technical systems across the site.
- Owning and developing our HACCP, QMS, internal audits, specification, supplier approval and complaints systems.
- Acting as the key contact for customer audits, quality issues, and product specifications.
- Being present daily on the bakery floor, checking goods in/out and working closely with the production team.
- Providing technical support for new product development.
- Playing a key role in preparing for future BRCGS accreditation.
- Developing your skills as the business grows, becoming a senior manager supporting the Operations Director as appropriate.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience with food safety accreditations such as BRCGS, SALSA etc. would be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of HACCP, QMS and food safety legislation.
- Confident in working with customers and external auditors.
- Meticulous attention to detail, especially with specifications, packaging, and labelling.
- Practical, solutions-focused, and comfortable being out on the factory floor.
- A leader and communicator who is comfortable taking ownership and using their initiative.
- Hands-on experience in food manufacturing, would be ideal.
