Key Responsibilities:

Answer incoming patient telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner

Handle a wide range of patient queries efficiently and sensitively
-
Book, amend, and cancel appointments using the EMIS system
-
Accurately navigate patients to the appropriate clinician or service (signposting)
-
Manage general administrative queries and provide support where required
-
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times
-
Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth service delivery
Person Specification:
Essential:

Excellent verbal communication skills and a professional telephone manner

Strong customer service skills with a patient focused approach

Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload

Ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure

Competent IT skills and attention to detail
-
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to effectively signpost patients
Desirable:

Previous experience in a call handling, reception, or administrative role

Experience working within a GP practice or healthcare setting

Familiarity with EMIS and SystmOne
-
Understanding of services and patient pathways
