About Owlpath
Owlpath Learning Academy is a growing tutoring centre based in Chester, delivering high-quality tuition in 11+, SATs and GCSE subjects. We work with students both online and in-centre, and we're passionate about building genuine understanding — not just drilling past papers.
We currently have a small team of 3 dedicated tutors and are looking to grow as demand for our services increases ahead of the 2026 11+ season and GCSE exam cycle.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutor to join our team on a part-time basis. You will deliver tuition to students aged 9–16, specialising in one or both of the following areas:
- 11+ Preparation (Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Maths — GL Assessment format)
- GCSE Maths (Foundation and/or Higher tier)
Sessions are delivered both online (via video call) and in-centre at our Chester location. In-centre availability is required, with the balance of online and in-person sessions agreed based on student demand.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong subject knowledge in 11+ preparation or GCSE Maths (or both)
- Experience tutoring or teaching children aged 9–16
- Excellent communication skills — able to explain concepts clearly and patiently
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Based locally in or around Chester — in-centre availability is essential
- Enhanced DBS check (we can support the application process if required)
Desirable (but not essential)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or teaching experience
- Familiarity with the GL Assessment 11+ format used in the Wirral Admissions Test
- Experience preparing students for selective grammar school entry
