Coleg Cambria is searching for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a part-time Lecturer in Sport. We are seeking an enthusiastic professional who is committed to inspiring the next generation of athletes and sports professionals. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on the development and success of our students.
As a Lecturer in Sport, your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our level 2, level 3, and school links learners enrolled in sport-related courses. You will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging lessons, lectures, and practical sessions that align with the curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of our learners.
In this role, you will provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback to students, nurturing their growth and progress in their sports studies. Assessing and evaluating student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations will be crucial in helping them achieve their goals. Your ability to provide timely and accurate feedback will be instrumental in their development.
Furthermore, you will contribute to the design and development of curriculum materials and resources. It will be essential to ensure that these materials are up-to-date and relevant to industry standards. Staying updated with industry trends and advancements will allow you to incorporate the latest knowledge and skills into your teaching practice, enriching the learning experience for our students.
A Football Coaching Qualification would be advantageous but it is not essential.
Essential Requirements
Qualified to a minimum of Level 4 or equivalent in a professionally relevant subject matter
You must be a qualified teacher and hold either a PGCE, Cert Ed or C&G 7407
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Self motivated, well organised and able to work independently using own initiative
Welsh Language skills are an essential requirement for this role. Candidates are required to have a Welsh Level of C2. However, applicants who are currently within one level of the required standard (C1) are also encouraged to apply on a "need-to-learn" basis, provided they demonstrate a clear commitment to achieving the necessary fluency.
