EMF Roofing – Roofer (Social Housing) Overview
EMF Roofing is seeking skilled and motivated Roofers to join our growing team, delivering high-quality roofing services across social housing, local authority, and housing association contracts. Working on planned maintenance, responsive repairs, and refurbishment projects, you will play a key role in ensuring residents' homes remain safe, weatherproof, and maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out roof renewals, repairs, and maintenance on occupied and void social housing properties.
- Install, repair, and replace a wide range of roofing systems including:
- Concrete and clay tiled roofs
- Natural and artificial slate roofing
- Flat roofing systems (felt, liquid, EPDM and GRP)
- Leadwork, flashings and weathering details
- Fascias, soffits, guttering and rainwater goods
- Diagnose roofing defects and carry out effective first-time repairs.
- Measure, cut and fit roofing materials accurately using industry-standard hand and power tools.
- Work safely from scaffolding, mobile towers and access equipment in accordance with Working at Height Regulations.
- Complete roofing works in line with NHBC, BS5534 and manufacturer specifications where applicable.
- Ensure all works comply with current Building Regulations and health and safety legislation.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, site supervisors, housing officers and contract managers while working in occupied homes.
- Maintain clean, safe and organised working areas, ensuring minimal disruption to residents.
- Complete job sheets, photographic records and quality inspections using company procedures.
- Support wider construction activities where required, including minor carpentry and roofline installations.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience within domestic roofing, preferably on social housing or planned maintenance contracts.
- Strong knowledge of pitched and flat roofing systems.
- Competent in roof repairs, full roof replacements and roofline installations.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and scope of works.
- Skilled in the safe operation of hand tools, power tools and roofing equipment.
- Excellent understanding of Health & Safety legislation, including Working at Height and Manual Handling.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify roofing defects and recommend suitable repairs.
- Excellent communication and customer care skills when working in occupied properties.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary construction team.
Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Roofing Occupations (or equivalent experience)
- CSCS Skilled Worker Card
- PASMA and/or IPAF certification
- Asbestos Awareness
- Working at Height Training
- First Aid at Work
- Full Clean UK Driving Licence

Pay: Up to £200.00 per day
