You will be joining a friendly and supportive Dermatology Department, which provides comprehensive Dermatology services at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital.
The Department is looking to appoint a part time Band 6 Specialist Nurse to work within the Dermatology team.
We are a progressive forward thinking department with a positive approach at meeting and delivering the current challenges of the NHS. The Dermatology Nursing team work alongside a large team including Dermatology Consultants, Registrars, speciality Doctors, a Nurse lead Biologics team, and a Nurse lead skin cancer/sarcoma team.
Under direction of the Lead Specialist Nurse:
Deliver specialist dermatology nursing care within outpatient clinics.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care for patients with a wide range of dermatological conditions.
Undertake comprehensive physical and psychological assessments, recognising the significant impact of skin disease on quality of life.
Monitor treatment effectiveness, identify adverse effects and escalate concerns appropriately.
Provide expert education and support to patients, relatives and carers, promoting self-management and shared decision-making.
Maintain accurate, timely and legally compliant clinical documentation.
Participate in virtual, telephone and face-to-face consultations where appropriate.
Act as a clinical role model, promoting professional standards and evidence-based practice.
Support the day-to-day running of the dermatology nursing service.
Supervise Band 5 nurses, nursing associates, healthcare support workers and students.
Participate in staff appraisals, induction, competency assessment and performance development where delegated.
Deputise for the Senior Sister/Lead Nurse as required.
Promote a positive learning environment and support staff wellbeing.
