Class Instructor – Permanent Weekly Class

Every week as part of the timetable - Monday Lunchtime and Thursday Lunchtime to start. Ideally wanting to fill the existing class Instructor spots - options for discussion. Wednesday / Thursday options up for discussion also. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to share your passion for movement, promote healthy lifestyles, and make a meaningful impact on our members’ lives As we move into our next exciting chapter as Immerse.

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Class Instructor to lead engaging and effective fitness classes that motivate participants and foster a positive, energetic environment. In this role, you will deliver high-quality instruction tailored to diverse skill levels, ensuring participants achieve their fitness goals while enjoying a safe and supportive atmosphere. Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire others to embrace active lifestyles and develop their athletic abilities.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver well-structured fitness classes that incorporate sports coaching techniques, emphasizing proper form, technique, and safety.
Motivate participants through energetic instruction, positive reinforcement, and personalized feedback to enhance their experience.
Monitor class participants to ensure correct execution of exercises, providing modifications as needed for different skill levels. Monitor class dynamics, offering personalised feedback to maximise effectiveness and motivation.
Maintain a safe environment by enforcing safety guidelines, spotting participants during activities, and responding promptly to any concerns or incidents.
Track attendance and progress, fostering a welcoming community that encourages ongoing participation and improvement.
Stay informed about the latest fitness trends, anatomy knowledge, and coaching methods to continually enhance class quality.
Collaborate with team members to organize special events or themed classes that promote community engagement.
Lead engaging classes tailored to diverse skill levels, ensuring proper technique and safety for all participants
Demonstrate exercises clearly, providing modifications and progressions to accommodate individual needs
Educate clients on anatomy principles relevant to class movements to enhance understanding and prevent injury
Maintain a clean, organised studio environment, ensuring equipment is sanitized and ready for use
Stay updated on the industry best practices through ongoing professional development

Qualifications

Recognised Level 2 gym instructor qualification.
Exercise to music qualification.
Desirable level 3 (or equivalent) Qualification.
Active Public Liability Insurance.
Valid Emergency First Aid at Work certificate ideal.
Proven experience managing mixed-ability groups.
Proven sports coaching experience with a strong understanding of athletic techniques and training principles.
Prior teaching experience in a fitness or sports setting, demonstrating the ability to communicate clearly and motivate effectively.
Knowledge of human anatomy relevant to exercise techniques and injury prevention.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse groups of participants.
Ability to demonstrate exercises safely while providing clear instructions and modifications as needed.
Certification in fitness instruction or coaching is preferred but not mandatory; relevant background in sports or physical education is highly valued.
