Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Garden Machinery Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of garden machinery and equipment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for mechanical work and outdoor equipment, providing hands-on experience in a professional environment. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their technical skills within the horticultural industry.

Responsibilities

Conduct diagnostics on various garden machinery to identify faults and issues
Repair and service equipment including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and other power tools
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, blade sharpening, and part replacements
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete repairs
Test repaired machinery to ensure proper functioning before returning to customers
Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment
Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance work carried out

Experience

Previous experience working with mechanical systems or in a similar repair role is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of garden machinery or outdoor power tools is advantageous
Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and specialised power tools is required
Familiarity with basic electrical systems related to garden equipment is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail are essential for diagnosing faults effectively
