Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Garden Machinery Technician to join our team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills and gain hands-on experience in garden machinery repair and maintenance. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to learn about mechanical systems, tools, and equipment used in garden machinery servicing. Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing faults and repairing garden machinery such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and other outdoor power tools
- Learn to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during repair processes
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, oiling, and replacing parts under supervision
- Follow safety protocols at all times when handling equipment and tools
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to ensure efficient workflow
- Support inventory management by assisting with the organisation of parts and tools
- Attend training sessions to develop technical knowledge and practical skills
Experience
- No prior experience necessary; however, a keen interest in mechanical systems or gardening equipment is desirable
- Basic understanding of mechanical concepts is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools is a plus but not required, as full training will be given
- Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and good organisational skills are essential for success in this role
