About the role
At Balfour Beatty, we're delivering some of the UK's most complex and technically demanding projects, helping to shape the future of critical national infrastructure. We're looking for an experienced Site Agent to join our team on our Rolls-Royce Project in Derby.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the successful delivery of key construction packages within a highly secure and collaborative environment. Working alongside a talented team of engineers, commercial professionals and project leaders, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the exceptional quality standards our clients expect.

As a Site Agent, you'll be responsible for the safe and successful delivery of your section of works, providing leadership to site teams while ensuring operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
What you'll be doing
As a Site Agent you will be:
- Leading the day-to-day management of construction activities across allocated work packages.
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with project specifications.
- Managing Site Engineers, Sub Agents, Supervisors and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
- Developing short and medium-term programmes and coordinating site activities to maintain project momentum.
- Promoting Balfour Beatty's Zero Harm culture and ensuring full compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Monitoring project performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures.
- Managing quality assurance processes and ensuring all works meet client and regulatory requirements.
- Working closely with commercial teams to manage budgets, procurement, change control and cost reporting.
- Building strong relationships with Rolls-Royce, designers, stakeholders and the wider project team.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- Previous experience working as a Site Agent, Sub Agent or Project Engineer on major infrastructure or construction projects.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- A proven track record of safely delivering projects to programme and budget.
- Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, planning and quality management.
- Experience administering NEC contracts and managing subcontractors.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
