We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Community Fundraising Development Officer to lead the growth of our community fundraising programme and help strengthen our position as the charity of choice across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

About the Role
As Community Fundraising Development Officer, you will develop and deliver an engaging and sustainable community fundraising programme, building strong relationships with supporters, volunteers, local groups, and businesses.
You will identify new fundraising opportunities, organise and support community events, recruit and motivate volunteer fundraisers, and ensure supporters receive an outstanding experience throughout their journey with the charity.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will play a key role in helping the charity achieve its fundraising ambitions and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a successful community fundraising programme.
- Achieve agreed fundraising targets and support income growth.
- Identify and develop new fundraising opportunities and income streams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with supporters, community groups, and local organisations.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver fundraising events and campaigns.
- Recruit, support, and retain volunteer fundraisers.
- Promote regular giving initiatives, lottery participation, and other fundraising products.
- Represent the charity at events, meetings, presentations, and public engagements.
- Work closely with colleagues to create engaging fundraising communications and campaigns.
- Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, and uphold excellent donor care standards.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in fundraising, community engagement, relationship management, or a similar role.
- An excellent communicator with strong presentation and networking skills.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Confident working independently while contributing positively within a small team.
- Experienced in planning and delivering events, campaigns, or community initiatives.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and database management.
- Passionate about engaging local communities and creating meaningful supporter experiences.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the charity or voluntary sector.
- Knowledge of community fundraising methods and current trends.
- Experience recruiting or managing volunteers.
- Understanding of GDPR and fundraising regulations.
