Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Shuttering Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing formwork for concrete structures, ensuring precision and safety on site. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced carpenters with specialised knowledge in shuttering to contribute to high-quality building projects. Duties
- Construct, install, and dismantle formwork for concrete structures in accordance with project specifications and safety regulations.
- Measure and mark out dimensions accurately using hand tools and measuring devices.
- Operate power tools such as saws, drills, and grinders to cut and shape timber or steel components.
- Use welding equipment where necessary to join metal formwork elements securely.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure precise execution of formwork designs.
- Assist with the handling and positioning of heavy materials using appropriate lifting techniques or mechanical aids.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools and materials are stored safely after use.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as masons, roofers, and general labourers to ensure seamless project progression.
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to minimise risks on site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter or in a similar carpentry role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, formwork systems, and construction safety standards.
- Competency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other relevant machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial for operating specialised equipment or troubleshooting issues on site.
- Experience with roofing, masonry, or general building works is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during material handling tasks.
- Valid driving licence for commercial driving may be preferred depending on project requirements.
- Physical fitness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods.
