The Foyle Food Group are seeking to recruit a Technical Manager to be based at our Foyle Campsie site, Lisahally, Campsie, Londonderry. This is a maternity cover role and a great opportunity to join one of the largest Red Meat processing Companies in the UK and Ireland.
We are looking for a competent manager to manage all aspects of the technical function and deliver the quality management system on site. This is a full-time role, reporting to the site General Manager and indirectly to the Group Technical Management team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and develop a site technical function in a modern red meat processing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of the site's Technical, Quality and Food Safety functions.
- Ensure the effective implementation, review and continuous improvement of the site's Quality Management System.
- Maintain compliance with BRCGS, customer standards, retailer requirements, regulatory requirements
- Lead site HACCP, Food Safety Culture and Quality Improvement programmes.
- Manage internal audits, customer audits, third-party certification audits and regulatory inspections.
- Drive corrective and preventative actions arising from audits, non-conformances, customer complaints and food safety.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to site management teams and operational departments.
- Manage customer relationships regarding quality, food safety and technical compliance matters.
- Lead, develop and coach the technical team to deliver high performance and professional development.
- Support site initiatives, continuous improvement projects and change management programmes.
Essential Criteria
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in a Technical Management or Senior Technical role within a food manufacturing environment, preferably meat processing.
- Demonstrable experience in managing and developing Quality Management Systems
- Qualified HACCP Team Leader.
- Internal auditor training with extensive experience leading and supporting external audits.
- Proven experience managing BRCGS, customer, regulatory and third-party certification audits.
- Strong knowledge of food safety legislation, quality standards, HACCP, TACCP and VACCP principles.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence, challenge and support decision-making at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
