Standard Utilities is looking for a proactive and motivated Sales Development Representative to join our growing sales team.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident on the phone, enjoys speaking with people, and is keen to build a career in sales. You will play an important part in identifying new business opportunities, speaking with schools and businesses, and introducing them to our telecoms, broadband, hosted phone systems, WiFi and CCTV solutions.
Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to develop within a supportive and fast-growing company.
Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls and send email introductions to potential customers
- Speak with schools, businesses and organisations to understand their current telecoms and connectivity needs
- Introduce Standard Utilities’ services, including phone systems, broadband, VoIP, WiFi and CCTV
- Qualify potential leads and pass suitable opportunities to the sales team
- Follow up with prospects and help build long-term customer relationships
- Keep accurate notes and update the CRM system with customer details and call outcomes
- Work closely with the wider sales and service teams to support new opportunities
- Attend team meetings and training sessions to improve product knowledge and sales skills
- Stay aware of customer needs, market trends and competitor activity
Skills and Experience
- Confident and professional telephone manner
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Organised, reliable and able to manage follow-ups effectively
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Self-motivated and comfortable working towards targets
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Basic CRM experience would be helpful, but full training will be provided
- Previous sales, customer service or call centre experience would be beneficial but is not essential
