Full job description

We are seeking a motivated Research Governance Administrator to provide maternity cover in the Research Policy, Governance and Integrity team.

About the role

You will provide crucial administrative support across a broad range of research governance areas, including Trusted Research, Human Tissue, Research Integrity, Research Ethics, and more.

In this varied and fast-paced role, you'll act as the first point of contact for shared inboxes and offer seamless assistance to internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, professional service teams, and committee members. The role demands someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys collaborative work, and can manage a dynamic workload.

Key responsibilities:

Administrative support for research governance areas (e.g. updating of logs/trackers, distribution of newsletters, updating webpages etc)
Efficiently manage shared inboxes, re-directing or responding to queries and directing communications
Provide high-quality, friendly service to staff, student researchers, and external partners

About you

You will

be comfortable working under pressure
have excellent communication skills
be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
be a strong team player with a proactive attitude and a passion for supporting research activities.

Training will be provided across the range of governance areas identified.

Further information

This is part-time role (0.6 fte) working 21.9 hours per week for a fixed-term period until September 2027 to cover parental leave.

A working pattern covering core hours across three days per week, preferably Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, ensuring availability for key meetings, collaboration and business needs during those days.
