We’re committed to growth and excellence, and we’re now looking for a talented Residential Conveyancer (Solicitor or Legal Executive) to join our expanding Residential Conveyancing team.
The Role
We’re seeking a motivated and client-focused conveyancer to join our busy Residential Conveyancing department. You’ll manage your own caseload of residential property matters and contribute to the continued success of the team, delivering exceptional legal services that exceed client expectations.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Tavistock—our clients value face-to-face service, and so do we.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver exceptional legal services that exceed client expectations and reflect our “It’s all about you” philosophy
- Manage a varied residential conveyancing caseload including:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Registered and unregistered land transactions
- Re-mortgages
- Transfers of equity
- Easements
- Plot sales
- Deeds of gift
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and third-party referrers
- Handle your own fee-earning work independently and collaboratively
- Ensure compliance with SRA standards, firm policies, and CQS requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using the firm’s case management system
- Take financial responsibility for your matters, including billing and cash flow
- Contribute to business development and help grow the Residential Conveyancing department
- Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to cross-refer work and support client needs
- Actively seek opportunities to develop your legal expertise and professional skills
- Uphold the firm’s values and contribute to a positive, client-focused culture
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
- 3–5 years’ PQE in residential conveyancing
- Experience managing a busy residential conveyancing caseload
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent client-facing and relationship-building abilities
- Good IT skills and technical proficiency
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- CQS accreditation
- Experience with case management systems
- Experience supervising junior staff
- Full, clean driving licence (occasional travel to clients may be required)
