Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £31,000–£40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Employment Type: Permanent employed position
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including one evening per week and one Saturday morning per month
- Annual Leave: 21 days plus bank holidays, with incremental increases based on length of service

Job Purpose
The Podiatrist is responsible for delivering expert assessment, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of foot and ankle conditions within a clinical setting.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care while continually developing their clinical expertise and professional knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Care
- Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of lower limb conditions using appropriate clinical assessment tools and techniques, including: nail disorders, skin conditions and musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions and injuries
- Develop and implement individualised short- and long-term treatment plans, incorporating patient education and preventative advice.
- Deliver a comprehensive range of routine foot care treatments, including: Nail cutting and reduction, nail resection, nail care advice, nail fenestration, corn enucleation, callus debridement, wound care and blister management
- Provide pressure off-loading solutions, including: otoform moulding, padding and taping, simple insoles and footwear assessment and fitting advice
- Carry out comprehensive foot health screening, including: new patient assessments, membership and annual foot health checks, fungal nail and skin testing (in-house and laboratory-based), lesion imaging and footscan pressure mat analysis.
- Deliver specialist skin and nail treatments, including: verruca and wart treatments (acid therapy, cryotherapy, and SWIFT microwave therapy), fungal skin and nail management, including fenestration, testing, and topical treatment advice and lesion management using cryotherapy and SWIFT microwave therapy
2. Quality and Safety
Patient Safety
- Deliver safe, effective, evidence-based care in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
Clinical Records
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date patient records in line with clinical governance, legal, and data protection requirements.
3. Team Working
- Work collaboratively with the wider Zest team and other healthcare professionals, including GPs, physiotherapists, and nurses, to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Contribute positively to a supportive, multidisciplinary working environment.
4. Professional Development
- Participate in continuing professional development (CPD) activities, mandatory training, and clinical education programmes.
- Maintain HCPC registration and keep clinical knowledge and skills up to date.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- BSc (Hons) in Podiatry or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Eligibility to work in a UK clinical setting.
Desirable
- Previous clinical experience in podiatry.
- Applications from newly qualified graduates are also welcomed.
