Job Description

We’re looking for an Assistant Manager to join the team at The Sundancer.

Set right on the beachfront, The Sundancer is a relaxed but high-quality restaurant and café focused on locally sourced produce, thoughtful cooking, and genuine hospitality. With stunning sea views and a strong mix of locals and visitors, we pride ourselves on consistency, attention to detail, and creating an experience people want to return to.

This role is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in management — leading from the front, supporting the wider team, and helping drive standards across the business.

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you’ll:

Support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the venue
Lead shifts with confidence, ensuring smooth and efficient service
Take ownership of the guest experience from start to finish
Train, support, and develop the team
Help manage rotas, staffing levels, and labour control
Ensure high standards across service, cleanliness, and presentation
Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally
Step up to run the venue in the GM’s absence

This is a hands-on leadership role — you’ll be fully involved in service while also taking responsibility for performance, standards, and team development.

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality
Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team
Confident decision-maker who takes ownership
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Organised and able to manage a busy, fast-paced environment
A genuine passion for food, service, and hospitality
Flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends
