JOB DESCRIPTION:

GoodTread Tyre & Autocare is looking for an experienced and reliable Motor Mechanic/ Vehicle Technician to join our busy workshop team following the upcoming retirement of a long-serving member of staff.

This is a varied role working on a wide range of vehicles, carrying out MOT Testing, servicing, repairs, diagnostics, maintenance and MOT preparation work to a high standard.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works well as part of a team, and can provide excellent service to our customers

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carry out MOT testing in line with DVSA standards
Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standard
Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based diagnostic equipment
Repairing or replacing broken or defective parts
Prepare vehicles for MOT inspection
Road testing vehicles to check repairs where requried
Complete job cards and workshop paperwork accurately
Maintain workshop equipment and tools responsibly
Work safely and follow company health & safety procedures

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who has:

Current MOT Tester qualification
Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent experience)
Previous workshop experience within the motor trade
Good mechanical and diagnostic skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own and as part of a team
Good communication and customer awareness
A proactive and enthusiastic approach
A full driving licence

WORKING WEEK

40 hours per week plus alternate Saturdays

Monday – Friday: 8.30am-5.00pm

Alternate Saturdays: 8.30am-3.00pm

Some overtime may occasionally be requested but would be agreed in advance.

SALARY & BENEFITS

£35,000-£42,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
28 days annual leave, increasing after 5 years of service(including allocated days over Christmas and New Year Shutdown periods)

There is 6 month probationary period.
