Botanico is a fast-developing online retail plant nursery. Due to business expansion we are currently recruiting for a new full-time horticultural plant nursery assistant to join our rapidly growing team to help with growing, dispatch and online tasks.
Job duties would include;
- Sowing and planting seeds
- Preparing plants for dispatch
- Picking and packing orders
- General nursery maintenance and tidying
- Writing sales listings on online platforms
- Inventory management
- Post and schedule social media content
- Helping with seasonal nursery tasks
As an ideal Horticultural Assistant, you will:
- Have a genuine interest and passion for horticulture.
- Have great communication skills and a friendly nature.
- Be creative with a keen eye for detail and willingness to learn.
- Be confident working as part of a small team and working independently.
- Be computer literate with Microsoft Excel and/or Mac Numbers.
- Good plant knowledge and previous experience working in a horticultural setting would be advantageous.
- RHS qualifications or equivalent practical experience would also be desirable.
Due to the seasonal nature of the work, hours will vary throughout the year. Expected hours will be approximately 15 hours per week during the winter period (August–February), increasing to 37.5 hours per week during the peak season (February–August). The role will involve working 5 days out of 7, including Sundays. Sunday working is a non-negotiable requirement of this position.
Please note; work will be positioned across our two sites, Barnby Nursery Centre NR34 7QF and our growing site in Aldeby NR34 0BJ. Flexibility and travel to work between the two sites is essential for this position.
