The role of Trials and Training Coordinator will be diverse and varied, it is a cross disciplinary role designed to increase the professionalism and management of internal and customer trials, customer demonstrations and operator training across the Naval, Littoral and increasingly the Land market spaces.
To interact with and manage MSI-DS customers; to deliver training and demonstrations on weapon systems, produce concise and articulate feedback where required on processes and project developments.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Have a deep understanding of all weapon systems and associated parts in service with MSI-DS customers.
- Stay current and competent with new and developing weapon systems used and produced by MSI-DS.
- Create and maintain training material current at a user level, along with trials and demo planning and execution for users. Demonstrating capabilities of MSI-DS products to new and existing customers.
- Ability to give detailed descriptions to the field service engineers on any faults encountered in the systems.
- Generate revenue streams through consumable items, spare parts and refresher training to customers.
- Provide user level insight to R&D, helping to develop and improve the suitability of systems in both Land and Naval environments.
- Military advice for ongoing development projects to ensure user utility and satisfaction of projects in development, also gaining feedback on customer user experience and suggestions.
- To be trained as the MSI-DS ‘Expert Shooter’.
- To conduct Operator Training internally and externally as required and in due course.
- To liaise with Key User Groups in the UK, with reference to, RN, RM, SF and Army.
- To provide User input and advice to the BD Team for Customer presentations and briefing documents.
- Attend relevant Exhibitions.
- Liaise with outside organisations to plan, co-ordinate and execute complex live fire ranges within the UK and abroad, including logistic and people management.
- Manage a variety of roles on range including UAV flying, gun operation, ammunition management, medical response, and safety co-ordination.

About the person:
- Ex-Military with experience in Crew Served Weapons
- Have experience of operating Drones (desirable)
- Proven experience in coordinating and managing projects
- Experience and proven ability to identify and manage risk
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- A willingness to learn and develop with a ‘can do’ attitude
- To be able to work independently and within a team
- Willingness to take ownership of the roles responsibilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
- Ability to travel as and when required
- Credible to a wide variety of Military User Groups
- Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, or similar (essential)
- Category C1 driving license (desirable)
