Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mobile plant equipment such as excavators, material handlers, loaders, and other heavy machinery
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and technical manuals
- Repair and overhaul equipment by performing tasks including welding, fabrication, soldering, and component replacement
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized diagnostic tools to complete repairs efficiently
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
- Assist with assembly of new machinery or parts as required for upgrades or modifications
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory to support ongoing operational needs
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy mobile and fixed plant machinery
- Strong electrical experience with the ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom repairs or modifications
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, power tools, hand tools, and assembly processes
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety standards
- Prior experience working in construction or industrial environments is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving

Pay: £17.00-£22.00 per hour
