Full job description

At GreenSpark Environmental, we are looking for a Finance Assistant to support the finance function, with primary responsibility for the Sales Ledger and providing cover for purchase ledger, including processing invoices and checking purchase orders during periods of absence

This role works closely with both finance and operational teams, helping to ensure robust financial controls, accurate processing, and effective communication with suppliers and customers.

What You’ll Do:

Manage all aspects of the sales ledger and credit control, including raising, checking, and processing invoices
Ensure accuracy of customer data by reviewing information within the CRM system before issuing invoices
Proactively chase outstanding debt, taking ownership of aged receivables to ensure timely cash collection
Build strong relationships with customers to encourage prompt payment and resolve billing issues quickly
Post and reconcile cash received from customers
Produce and issue weekly and monthly customer statements
Reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies or errors
Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

Who We’re Looking For:

Previous experience in a finance or credit control role
Strong numerical and analytical skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
Confident using finance systems (SAGE 50 desirable) and Microsoft Office
Proactive, resilient and solutions-focused
Comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving business
Keen to learn, develop and grow with us
AAT qualified or studying (or equivalent) is desirable
