Job Introduction
At DFS Group, we’re proud to help people create spaces they love to live in. We’re home to DFS, Sofology, and The Sofa Delivery Company: three brands with their own personalities, brought together by a shared mission.
Behind our brands is a passionate Group team. From Finance and Technology to People, Marketing and Supply Chain, our Group functions power everything we do. They create the foundations that allow our brands to thrive, innovate and grow.
Whether you’re supporting our brands or serving our customers, the mindset that connects us means we expect more of ourselves and each other. It means every customer is our favourite, every voice is valued, and every interaction is one we’re proud of.
When you’re part of a community that shares your way of thinking, the wins feel bigger. The effort feels worth it. It’s a place where people stay because they feel valued, and find room to grow because they’re challenged.
As a Merchandiser, you’ll be responsible for analysing product performance and providing the Commercial team with data-driven insights that inform strategic decisions and drive business growth. Working closely with Buyers and the wider Merchandising team, you’ll optimise product assortments, monitor trends, and ensure the right products are available in the right place, at the right price, at the right time for our customers.
Maintaining and analysing key sales data to support accurate forecasting and provide valuable insights into product performance, helping to shape future trading strategies.
Conducting detailed post-campaign reviews to assess the success of initiatives, highlight learning, and identify new opportunities to drive business growth and profitability.
Tracking market and customer trends, supporting the evaluation and roll out of new product development trials to ensure the range remains fresh, relevant, and commercially strong.
Collaborating closely with the Merchandising and Buying teams, contributing to strategic discussions and providing data-led recommendations to inform decision-making.
Managing and prioritising multiple projects simultaneously, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy under pressure.
Strong numerical and analytical ability, capable of interpreting data and transforming insights into clear, actionable recommendations that drive commercial success.
Curious, commercially minded, and solutions-focused, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Collaborative and communicative, able to build strong relationships, work effectively across teams, and engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
Highly adaptable and resilient, thriving in a fast-paced retail environment and responsive to changing business needs and priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and translate findings into actionable insights.
Excellent organisational and communication abilities, ensuring effective collaboration across teams and the smooth management of multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, with experience using data visualisation or business intelligence tools such as Power BI considered highly desirable.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently, demonstrating initiative, accountability, and a proactive approach to achieving results.
Don't let it discourage you if you don't have all of this experience, it's a guideline that will help you hit the ground running. If the role sounds like it would be a great fit for you and you're confident that it suits you, we'd love you to apply.
