We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Support & Infrastructure Engineer to join our Head Office Technology team.
This role sits at the intersection of advanced end user support and core infrastructure, acting as a key escalation point for the business. You will provide hands on troubleshooting, system administration, and technical support across a broad range of technologies, while also contributing to infrastructure improvements and IT projects.
This position is well suited to someone with strong technical breadth, a pragmatic approach to problem solving, and experience in a business-facing IT support environment.
The successful candidate will benefit from a salary of between £35,000 and £40,000 a year, depending on experience, 30 days annual leave every year including public holidays and increasing by a day each year for the first 3 years, additional paid leave for your birthday and Christmas eve, up to £1580 each year for you and your partner to take a fantastic Leger Shearings tour (and 5 extra paid leave days for it), and opportunities for further professional development with our LSG Scholarship programme.
This is a full time, on site role based at our Rotherham Head Office (S60 2XR). It is not suitable for applicants seeking to work remotely either fully or on a hybrid basis.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support for incidents and service requests, acting as an escalation point where required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, printers, and end user hardware.
- Administer and support Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, Group Policy, Exchange, and other core infrastructure services.
- Support remote users and multiple office locations using remote access tools.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date system, process, and known-issue documentation.
- Assist with and contribute to IT projects, including system upgrades, deployments, and migrations.
- Liaise with third party vendors and service providers as required.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
- Maintain accurate IT asset tracking and inventory.

About You
You will have the following essential skills and experience:
- Experience in an IT support or infrastructure support role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, including:
- Windows 11 and Windows Server
- Microsoft 365
- Active Directory and Azure Entra ID
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Experience working with ITSM / ticketing systems.
- Familiarity with Ubiquiti UniFi Gateway and WiFi solutions.
- Familiarity with Cisco Meraki networking hardware.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to take ownership of issues through to resolution.
Preference will also been given to canddidates who can demonstrate the following:
- Experience administering or supporting Azure environments.
- Exposure to Unified Endpoint Management and Security tooling (e.g. Intune, ManageEngine Endpoint Central).
- Experience with centrally managed Wi Fi platforms (e.g. UniFi).
- Exposure to virtualisation technologies such as Hyper V.
