Job Purpose
To deliver high quality football and sports coaching opportunities and experiences within the local community to people of all ages and abilities that is structured and progressive. Working across Sports Participation, Inclusion and Health and Wellbeing, delivering Barnsley FC Community Trust’s overall charitable aims and objectives will be a vital part of the role.
Qualifications
Essential
- UEFA C (FA Level 2) / Level 2 Multi Skills
- FA First Aid qualification (or willingness to update)
- FA Safeguarding certification (or willingness to update)
Desirable
- Range of Level 1 National Governing Body Coaching or Leadership awards
- Range of Level 2 National Governing Body Coaching or Leadership certificates – Sport
- Specific (Multi-sports, Gym Instructing etc…)
- Level 2/3 AfPE / HLTA
- UEFA B Coaching Qualification
- Mental Health First Aid
Experience
Essential
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience Coaching in a range of environments.
- Proven experience in planning, delivering and evaluating schemes of work specifically in Sports Participation, Health and Wellbeing and Inclusion. (Soccer Camps, Birthday Parties, PE (within Schools), Fitness Classes (circuit training etc..) Social Sport groups)
- Experience of providing technical and tactical information
- Experience in engaging, communicating and working with diverse communities, ages, and abilities.
- Experience in effectively managing and prioritise multiple tasks, and responsibilities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Experience of promoting activities
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and practices, with experience in ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, staff, and volunteers in community settings. Experience of conducting Risk Assessments both Formally (pre) and dynamic (during) the delivery of sessions.
Desirable
- Experience of Community Sports Development
- Experience in monitoring and reporting on project outcomes, impact, success, using data and feedback to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement

Additional Factors
- Ability to undertake any necessary travel in connection with the duties of the post
- Able to work flexible as normal working hours may include evening and weekend work
- As the post involves working with children and vulnerable adults the post holder will be subject to an enhanced DBS check
