Main purpose of the role:
The Parts Supervisor at BCA Doncaster will lead all day‑to‑day activity within the Parts Department, ensuring the smooth, accurate and efficient flow of parts that underpin the site’s production targets. You will oversee stock maintenance—including stock level checks, ordering, issuing, receiving and returning parts, clothing and stationery—while supervising the parts team and maintaining strong daily liaison with staff and suppliers.
A key part of the role is ensuring all parts processes meet ISO requirements and operational standards, enabling the facility to achieve planned production through reliable parts availability, accurate control and consistent quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team leadership — supervise, direct and support the Parts team, promoting strong performance, safety and welfare.
- Stock & consumables control — maintain accurate stock levels, oversee stock checks, review obsolete stock, and manage ordering/issuing of parts, consumables, clothing and stationery.
- Quality & process compliance — ensure all parts handling, storage and issuing meet agreed processes, JSOCs requirements and customer quality standards.
- Operational coordination — liaise with Centre management to support production plans, advise on issues, minimise costs, and assist with supplier management.
- Customer & financial liaison — communicate with After Sales clients and work with the Finance Controller on P&L matters.
- Continuous improvement — create and monitor Parts procedures, support ISO and CoP integration, and ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
- Safety & compliance — take responsibility for departmental H&S, attend monthly meetings, and arrange subcontract cover when required.
Skills and knowledge we are looking for:
- Leadership & People Management — able to supervise, motivate and support a team, driving strong performance and positive behaviours.
- Technical Understanding — solid knowledge of automotive parts operations, stock control processes and workshop requirements.
- Attention to Detail — accurate, methodical and thorough in stock checking, system updates and documentation.
- Decision Making — confident making clear, timely decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
- IT Skills — competent with MS Office and able to learn industry‑specific systems quickly.
- Organisation — strong planning and coordination skills, able to manage workloads and maintain smooth operational flow.
