Full job description

D Horne Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Civils Groundworker / Multi‑Skilled Plant Operator to join our team based in Pinmore, South Ayrshire. The role involves supporting a wide range of civils, utilities, forestry and rural infrastructure projects across South‑West Scotland, the Central Belt and Dumfries & Galloway, including windfarm maintenance works.

We are looking for reliable, skilled individuals who take pride in their work, operate safely, and work well within a small team across varied and remote environments.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out windfarm maintenance works and access road upkeep
Install ducting, utilities and general infrastructure
Complete concreting tasks including slab preparation, bases, shuttering, pouring and finishing
Support forestry road construction and rural civils
Perform fencing, reinstatement and general groundworks
Operate excavators, dumpers, rollers, tractors and other site plant
Work safely and professionally on remote and rural sites
Conduct daily plant checks and basic maintenance
Install drainage systems (deep and shallow)

Requirements

Proven experience in groundworks, civils or rural infrastructure
Skills in concreting, utilities, forestry roads or windfarm works
Competent operating a range of plant machinery
Valid NPORS or CPCS certification
Full UK driving licence
Two recent work references
Strong teamwork, communication and reliability
Ability to work in varied weather conditions and remote locations
A safety‑focused approach and pride in workmanship
