Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and professional Front of House/Barista Staff to join our vibrant team at a new start for our cafe. The successful candidates will be the welcoming face of our establishment, ensuring guests receive exceptional service from arrival to departure. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality, food service, and creating memorable experiences for our patrons. Prior experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous, but a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are equally valued. Barista experience is essential, and continuous training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and seat them promptly, providing a friendly and professional first impression
Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all dietary requirements and preferences are noted
Make and serve specialty coffee
Serve food and beverages with attentiveness and courtesy, maintaining high standards of presentation and service
Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, adhering to food safety standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front-of-house area, including tables, counters, and service stations
Handle customer enquiries or complaints tactfully to ensure guest satisfaction
Support barista duties when required, preparing hot drinks such as coffee and tea to a high standard
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is desirable; restaurant or barista experience is a plus
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
Flexibility to work shifts including evenings and weekends if necessary
A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail and presentation
Personal hygiene and appearance must meet professional standards

This role is ideal for motivated individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy engaging with diverse guests. We are committed to providing a supportive workplace where staff can develop their skills within the hospitality industry.

Candidates will need to be available on weekends. Role is 3 days per week, along with some holiday cover. Shift lengths can vary from 4 - 8 hours. Pay is dependent on age and experience.

Candidates must be over the age of 18 to comply with alcohol licensing conditions.
