Company Overview

Ferne Animal Sanctuary is a charity dedicated to rescuing and re-homing animals in need. Founded over 80 years ago, we operate without government funding, relying solely on donations and fundraising efforts. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for animals of all shapes and sizes while promoting their welfare and finding them loving homes.

Summary

We are seeking a Relief Retail Sales Assistant to join our Relief team and help cover the following stores Crewkerne, Yeovil and Dorchester. This role is vital in supporting our fundraising efforts through retail sales while helping to raise awareness about animal welfare. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal care and committed to providing excellent customer service. You will be required to work two days per week (15 hours) with at least one of the days being a weekend day. A Full Driving Licence and own vehicle is essential as you will be required to cover other local shops, expenses are paid in line with policy.

Responsibilities

Assist customers in selecting products that meet their needs while promoting animal welfare.
Ensuring shelves are stocked and replenished in a timely manner.
Engage with customers to provide information about the sanctuary and its mission.
Have great visual merchandising skills to ensure the shop looks it best at all times.
Handle phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
Maintain a clean and welcoming retail environment.
To cover for the Shop Manager in their absence.

Requirements

Proven experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Organisational skills to manage donations and new goods.
