Role description
The Estimating role may suit someone currently working in an Estimating or Operational role, or someone in a current Supervisory role looking to advance their career and utilise their operational experience – training can be provided on our estimating software and tender procedures etc.
You will ensure an appropriate pipeline of work to meet the Surfacing Resources as well as the preparation and submission of PQQ’s; Tenders and Quotations to agreed timescales.
As our work covers a large geographical area, you will be required to travel to client sites/meetings as required throughout the Highlands and Moray.
There may be a requirement (where the candidates experience and abilities allow) to cover operational roles (Surfacing Manager) during periods of holiday absence or particularly heavy workload.
You may also be required to undertake some additional duties of commercial support (measures, valuations, cost report analysis etc) and business development – the role can be varied to suit the candidate.
What we are looking for:
· Proven experience in construction estimating.
· In-depth knowledge of road surfacing, with proven previous experience. Alternatively, someone with in-depth Civil Engineering (or similar discipline) estimating experience maybe considered as training in road surfacing can be provided.
· High levels of technical knowledge
· Excellent negotiating abilities
· Ideally hold a Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying Qualification
· CSCS Card
· The role covers a large geographical area across the Highlands and Moray so you will need to be able to travel, therefore a full UK Driving Licence is required.
