Planning Analyst

About the role:
The Planning Analyst is responsible for delivering accurate demand forecasts, inventory plans and supply recommendations to ensure product availability while optimising inventory investment. The role acts as a key link between Sales, Marketing, Operations, Procurement and Finance, providing data-driven insights to support business growth and customer service objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand Planning
- Develop and maintain SKU-level forecasts across all sales channels
- Analyse historical sales, market trends, seasonality and promotional activity
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to improve forecast accuracy
- Track forecast performance and implement continuous improvements
Inventory Planning
- Monitor inventory levels, stock health and inventory turns
- Recommend safety stock parameters and reorder point.
- Identify risks relating to stock shortages, excess inventory and obsolescence
- Support working capital optimisation initiatives
Supply Planning
- Develop supply plans aligned to forecast demand and supplier lead times
- Work with Procurement to ensure purchase order requirements are communicated effectively
- Monitor supplier performance and inventory coverage
- Support new product launches and phase-out activities
Analysis & Reporting
- Produce weekly and monthly KPI reports
- Analyse sales, inventory, service levels and forecast accuracy
- Provide recommendations based on planning data and trends
- Maintain planning dashboards and planning master data
S&OP Support
- Support the Sales & Operations Planning process
- Prepare reporting packs and scenario analysis
- Highlight demand, capacity and inventory risks to stakeholders
- Support decision-making through data-driven recommendations

What we’re looking for:
- 2+ years in demand planning, supply planning, inventory management or analytical roles
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with ERP and planning systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work with large datasets and translate findings into actions
Qualifications:
- Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Mathematics, Economics or related discipline preferred.
- APICS/CPIM qualification desirable.
