Role: IT Operations & Project Coordinator
Hours: 25 hours per week
Contract: Part Time, 12 Months Fixed Term
Location: Milton Keynes, Head Office
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive IT Operations & Project Coordinator to support a wide range of IT operational, administrative, governance, and project activities.
This role is focused on coordinating processes, managing IT administration, maintaining documentation, supporting service improvements, and helping to deliver projects and change initiatives across the business, rather than providing day-to-day technical support.
The ideal candidate will be a natural organiser who enjoys bringing structure to activities, coordinating people and processes, and ensuring actions are followed through to completion. While this is not a hands-on technical support role, a basic understanding of IT systems, business applications, and IT operational processes is essential. Strong organisational, communication, and coordination skills are equally important for success in this role.

Essential

2+ years experience in an IT administration, IT coordinator, service management, project support, application support, or similar role.

Good understanding of IT services, business applications, and IT operational processes.

Excellent organisational, documentation, and coordination skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience planning, coordinating, and testing of applications, processes, system changes, or service improvements.

Ability to manage multiple priorities across operational and project activities.

Experience producing reports, procedures, presentations, or other business documentation.

Experience supporting IT projects, service improvements, or change initiatives

Good proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
Desirable

Experience administering business applications, including user management, configuration, reporting, and ongoing platform maintenance.

Familiarity with software licensing, supplier management, or IT procurement processes.

Exposure to IT security, governance, compliance, or audit activities.

Experience creating, maintaining, or managing SharePoint content.

Experience working within a regional or global IT environment.

Knowledge of ITIL principles or IT Service Management best practices.

Experience working with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or similar systems

The Selection Process: Upon successful application, candidates will be asked to undertake a first interview online followed by some online testing and lastly a second interview face-to-face, onsite at our SMC Offices.
