Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the team at Kirkwall Hotel. Responsibilities
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in supervising daily restaurant activities, ensuring smooth service delivery
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards
- Supervise and support front-of-house staff, including serving and barista team members
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and uphold hygiene standards across all areas
- Manage team schedules, delegate tasks, and motivate staff to deliver excellent customer service
- Assist with food production, kitchen organisation, and maintaining efficient workflow during busy periods
- Handle guest enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to guarantee guest satisfaction
- Support in training new staff members and fostering a positive team environment
- Contribute to menu planning, stock control, and inventory management as needed
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
- Experience in restaurant service, including serving and barista duties is desirable
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and food production processes
- Previous hotel or hospitality experience is advantageous but not essential
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure

Pay: £24,420.00-£39,953.32 per year
