Role overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our highly successful and growing company as a Driver’s Mate. As a key member of our Transport team, you will assist our driver’s ensuring you take pride in your work and exceed our customer expectations with the smooth and efficient delivery service. You are expected to follow company policy and procedures and all paperwork should be completed in full. You will communicate with the transport team regularly during your day providing updates with any traffic or road closure issues.
THIS IS A PHYSICAL ROLE AND REQUIRES YOU TO BE ABLE TO LIFT AND CARRY HEAVY OBJECTS

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the vehicles for deliveries
- Assist our drivers in loading and unloading goods on and off the vehicle at the direction of our customers.
- Ensure all goods are properly secured and organised for transport
- Accompany our driver on delivery routes and provide assistance as required
- Provide exceptional customer service by delivering goods into our customer premises in a courteous and professional manner
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle
- Other duties as may be required which are not set out in this job description but are within the scope of your skills, knowledge, experience and responsibility
- Ensure you comply with our Health and Safety policies and take care of yourself and that of your colleague.
Person Specification
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks throughout the day
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
