Ford Windows are recruiting for a Sales Ledger & Credit Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the sales ledger, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, supporting credit control and cash allocation functions. This role is key to ensuring the financial health of the business assisting in the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations.
The role is full-time, working Monday to Friday (35 hours per week). We offer a salary of £25,000 to £28,000 per annum, depending on experience, together with the Company's annual bonus scheme. You'll also receive 22 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays, membership of the Company pension scheme and free on-site parking. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the sales ledger, ensuring customer invoices are raised accurately and on time in line with agreed pricing and customer requirements.
- Review supporting documentation, process authorised credit notes and deal with invoice queries efficiently, working closely with customers and colleagues across the business.
- Maintain accurate customer accounts, reconcile the sales ledger and support month-end finance activities.
- Take ownership of credit control by monitoring customer accounts, chasing outstanding payments and resolving payment queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Allocate customer payments, review aged debt reports and help maintain healthy cash flow.
- Work with our partially automated invoicing system, checking and validating invoices before they are issued to customers.
- Play an active role in improving our invoicing processes by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, accuracy and enhance the customer experience.
- Support the Finance Manager with testing and developing system improvements as our finance processes continue to evolve.
- Provide general finance and administrative support, helping wherever needed within the department.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable or Credit Control.
- A high level of accuracy and good attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and confidence when dealing with customers by telephone and email.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience using accounting or finance software.
- The ability to organise and prioritise their workload, whilst managing competing deadlines.
- A positive, professional approach and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team.
It would be an advantage if you also have:
- Experience using Sage 50 Accounts.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, construction or engineering environment.
- Experience working with national account customers.
- An interest in improving processes and helping develop more efficient ways of working within the Finance team.
