Landmarks is an independent specialist day college for young people with learning disabilities and difficulties. The college offers a wide range of programmes that are tailored to each individual’s needs.

Landmarks operates from several sites across; Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, with our main site located in Eckington, S21 4EF.

Landmarks has several satellite provisions in Rotherham, Nottingham city Centre and a “real-life” hospitality and catering facilitate in Rainworth, Mansfield. These environments enable us to provide a range of personal and vocational training opportunities including:

Our staff are required to work on a range of different sites, including; all college campuses, employer’s premises or communities local to your learners’ home - therefore willingness to travel is essential. There may be a requirement to transport learners in your own car, insurance implications are reimbursed. Mileage and expenses are provided for travel during the working day.

Job Purpose:

Our Occupational Therapist (Band 5) will play a key role in supporting the diverse needs of learners within Landmarks Specialist College. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the occupational therapist will provide integrated support that enables learners to achieve greater independence, participation, and engagement, so that they can be prepared for adulthood.

Main Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, but are not restricted to:

· To contribute to initial assessment processes, to determine what support needs may be required for a learner's programme.

· To prioritise integrated approaches, embedding occupational therapy strategies within curriculum delivery.

· To deliver targeted direct intervention (1:1 or small group) where directed, ensuring it complements classroom-based support.

· To monitor, evaluate, and adapt interventions based on learner progress and meaningful outcomes.

· To contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), including writing reports and attending annual reviews.

· To maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with professional standards.

· To work collaboratively with tutors to support the planning of inclusive, accessible sessions.

· To support tutors and support staff to embed functional and independence-based targets within teaching and learning activities.

· To coach and model strategies within the classroom (e.g. sensory regulation, task adaptation, environmental adjustments) and support staff to develop confidence in using them.

· To support the development and delivery of training for staff on occupational therapy approaches, with guidance from the Integrated Therapy Manager.

· To contribute to the development of resources and environments that promote independence, engagement, and participation.

· To work collaboratively with tutors, learning support staff, speech and language therapists, learner services, positive behaviour leads, and other professionals within the college.

· To support a whole-college approach to independence, participation, and regulation.

· To liaise with families/carers to support generalisation of strategies beyond the college setting.

· To engage in continuing professional development (CPD).

· To maintain therapy resources and contribute to service development initiatives.

· To collect and report outcome data as required.
