Equans is looking for a Mobile Janitor to join our Team working across North Lanarkshire Schools, Bellshill, ML4 3LR on a permanent basis. This is a full- time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Shift Pattern:
This role follows a 2-week rotating shift pattern across multiple school sites. Flexibility is essential, including weekend working on a rota basis.

30-minute unpaid lunch break
This varied shift pattern offers a mix of early, mid, and back shifts, providing variety across different school environments.
Primary School Shifts
- 5 / 5½ days over 7
- Early: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:00
- Back: Monday – Friday, 14:00 – 21:15
- Saturday: 08:00 – 12:15
High School Shifts
- 5 days over 7
- Early: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:00
Mid Shift:
- Monday – Wednesday, 08:00 – 16:00
- Saturday & Sunday, 09:00 – 16:15
- Back: Monday – Friday, 14:00 – 22:00

You will work across multiple school locations as part of this mobile role
- Full, valid UK driving licence
- Use of own vehicle (mileage expenses paid)
- Flexible and able to work across different sites and shift patterns
What will you deliver?
- As a Mobile Janitor, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and secure environment across North Lanarkshire school sites.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out janitorial duties across multiple school locations
- Opening and closing buildings safely, including security checks and patrols
- Responding to incidents and following emergency procedures
- Liaising with Police and emergency services where required
- Ensuring premises are secure, clean, and well maintained at all times
This is a mobile role, requiring a high degree of flexibility as you may be deployed to different sites and shifts as needed.
- The role requires the post holder to carry out the Janitors duties on any North Lanarkshire Schools site as required. The post holder must have a high degree of flexibility as they could be asked to work different shifts on different sites at any time.
- Safe opening and closing of premises, including patrol and inspection through emergency procedures as appropriate the making secure and cleaning up of the premises.
- Liaise with Police in the event of break-in or fire and carrying out of laid down emergency procedures in these circumstances.

Who are we looking for?
- Experience in a Janitorial role
- Candidates must be client friendly.
- Experience of working in a school environment would be advantageous.
- Candidates must be flexible in terms of availability etc.
- Full Valid driving License
