Hours - Part time position on 2 week shift patterns. Please see below for shift pattern.

Contract type - Part time permanent

We’re a city with big ambitions. A place packed with pride, passion and endless potential. WV Active is our leisure brand and has three centres in the city. Bert Williams, in Bilston and our dual site Aldersley Leisure Village in Tettenhall and Wolverhampton Central Baths.

We are looking to recruit Lifeguards and want to hear from you if you are qualified and experienced.

You will need to:

Be passionate about a career in the fitness industry
Be customer focussed
Be a holder of a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
Be a strong swimmer
Be proactive towards your personal development and be willing to undertake further training in other fitness roles
Pass the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification Pre-Requisite competency test

This post is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Average of 33.25 hours over 2 weeks

Week 1

Monday - 6:00 - 13:30

Tuesday - 6:00 - 13:30

Wednesday - Off

Thursday - Off

Friday - 16:00 - 22:30

Saturday - 13:30 - 19:30

Sunday - Off

Week 2

Monday - 13:30 - 22:30

Tuesday - 13:30 - 22:30

Wednesday - Off

Thursday - 6:00 - 14:00

Friday - 6:00 - 14:00

Saturday - Off

Sunday - Off

The annual pay increases for 2026/27 for NJC Local Government Employees are currently being negotiated and, once agreed, will be effective from 1 April 2026.

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
