The role:
We are pleased to offer a fixed-term opportunity for a Mental Health Therapist within the Inverclyde Primary Care Mental Health Team (PCMHT).
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary service providing psychological therapy interventions for adults experiencing common mental health difficulties.
The service delivers assessment and treatment for individuals presenting with conditions such as depression, anxiety, mixed anxiety and depression, adjustment disorders, Type 1 post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Interventions are delivered using a matched and stepped care approach, ensuring treatment is tailored to individual needs.
You will join the wider Inverclyde Community Mental Health Services, working alongside colleagues from the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), Older Persons Community Mental Health Team (OP-CMHT) and Community Response Service.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- This is a fixed-term post for 12 months
- You will be working full-time hours (36) over 0900 to 1700

Key responsibilities:
You will provide psychological therapy services to adults experiencing common mental health disorders. This will include undertaking assessments, developing treatment plans and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions in line with the Primary Care Mental Health Team model.
Supporting individuals presenting with depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, Type 1 PTSD, OCD and related mental health conditions. You will deliver interventions using a matched and stepped care approach, ensuring that treatment is appropriate to the level of need identified during assessment.
The role also involves working collaboratively with colleagues across primary care and wider community mental health services to ensure integrated, high-quality care for service users.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Essential Requirements

Degree-level qualification, or equivalent, in a recognised core profession with basic psychotherapy training, such as:

Registered Mental Health Nurse

Social Worker
-
Occupational Therapist

Other relevant professional qualification

Postgraduate Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) obtained through a BABCP-accredited course.

Knowledge and experience of assessing and treating common mental health disorders.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
