We are a well-established 71-bedroom hotel committed to delivering a high standard of comfort and service to our guests. To maintain our property to the highest standards, we’re currently seeking an experienced and reliable Handyman/Maintenance Technician to join our team.
The Role
As our on-site handyman, you’ll be responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the hotel, ensuring all facilities are kept in excellent working order and any issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out minor electrical repairs and installations (e.g. changing light fittings, sockets, etc.)
- Perform basic plumbing tasks (e.g. fixing leaks, unblocking drains, replacing taps or washers.)
- Undertake painting, decorating, and general cosmetic repairs across guest rooms and public areas.
- Complete minor carpentry and tiling work as required.
- Respond to day-to-day maintenance requests from hotel departments.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks and respond quickly to reported issues
- Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise disruption and prolong the life of equipment.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and complies with health & safety regulations.
- Liaise with hotel management and external contractors where needed.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and facilities, ensuring all systems are functioning properly.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with staff and vendors.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role (preferably in hospitality or facilities).
- A good understanding of general building maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
