We are looking for a proactive and motivated Library Building Operations Supervisor to join our team and play a key role in delivering an outstanding customer experience within the Main Library.
As a supervisory member of the Library Building Operations Team, you will support the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the Library estate. You will be instrumental in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning environment for all users, while guiding and supporting the Library Attendant team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to Library Attendants
- Support the User Services Officer in the operational management of the team
- Act as a first point of contact for Library Attendants, offering advice and direction
- Help ensure effective delivery of building operations across extended opening hours
Take a proactive role in:
- Security and incident response
- Fire safety and emergency procedures
- Basic building maintenance and reporting issues
- Responding to customer enquiries and supporting users

- Confidence in handling operational and safety responsibilities
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Flexibility to work a rota covering early mornings, evenings, and weekends
