Job Summary
We are seeking two dedicated and compassionate SEN Preschool Assistants to support children with special educational needs, including those with autism and disabilities. These roles involve working closely with individual children on a one-to-one basis within a preschool setting, ensuring personalised care and educational support. The successful candidates will play a vital role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that promotes learning and development for young children. Prior experience in working with children with special needs, particularly in early years or toddler care, is highly desirable. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about special education and making a positive impact on young lives.

Responsibilities

Provide personalised support to children with special educational needs, including those with autism and disabilities
Assist in implementing tailored learning programmes and activities based on individual needs
Support children's emotional well-being and behavioural development through positive reinforcement and nurturing interactions
Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor progress and adapt support strategies accordingly
Promote inclusive play and learning opportunities that encourage social interaction and skill development
Ensure the safety and well-being of each child at all times, adhering to safeguarding policies
Support with daily routines such as meal times, toileting, and sensory activities tailored to individual requirements
Maintain accurate documentation of children's progress and behaviour as required by the setting

Qualifications

Experience working with children in early years or preschool settings, particularly those with special educational needs
Knowledge of working with individuals with autism and disabilities is highly desirable
Understanding of teaching methods suitable for young children with additional needs
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, colleagues, and parents
Compassionate attitude with patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children's development
Ability to work on a one-to-one basis in a dynamic environment
Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or special education are advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
