We are currently looking to expand our team and are recruiting for the following position:
Prevention Key Worker TLS (Maternity Cover)
Targeted Lifeskills Service offers an age appropriate lifeskills and harm reduction programme for groups of young people age 11-21 that are at risk of alcohol or drug use. ASCERT provide this service in the Western Trust area and in a partnership with Start360 in the Northern Trust area. It is available to organisations or services working with existing groups of young people that they consider are have a higher risk of alcohol or drug use problems than young people generally. They may be at risk because of their behaviours, their personal circumstances, where they live, or there may be evidence that they are already experimenting with substances.
The Lifeskills programme is normally 4 – 8 sessions, which are interactive and designed to cater to the needs of the young people, taking into account their age and learning ability. The programme will always be delivered in a venue of the referrers choice, or in their premises.
OVERALL PURPOSE
ASCERT has grown to become one of the leading and best known providers of drug and alcohol services in Northern Ireland. We have extensive experience of service development, planning and delivery across a range of disciplines and successfully delivering substantial contracts on behalf of public bodies.
ASCERT provide a wide range of services across Northern Ireland including training, treatment, and community services operating from bases in Lisburn, Omagh and Belfast. We are strongly linked to policy development and implementation of strategy at a regional and local level through direct service delivery and partnership working.
This post holder will have responsibility for delivery training programmes such as but not exclusively:
- Community drug and alcohol education sessions for young people, adults and community workers throughout Northern Ireland using a hybrid method. Collection of evaluation data and production of a project evaluation report
- Drink and Drug Driving Education sessions throughout the region using a hybrid method. Collection of evaluation data and production of a project evaluation report.
