JOB DESCRIPTION:
Skea Egg Farms Ltd is a significant player in the agri-food sector supplying eggs to major retailers in Northern Ireland and mainland UK. We are currently offering the following full-time permanent position based at Skea:
Job Title: Transport Planner
Location: Donaghmore, Dungannon.
POSITION PURPOSE:
This is a hands-on position within the factory intake department requiring the co-ordination and collaboration between all departments to ensure sufficient egg supply reaches the production department in the most efficient manner.
The main objective for this role is to plan, organise and control the intake of eggs to ensure production is supplied with adequate quantities of quality eggs to fulfil customer orders whilst also ensuring food safety, legality and quality

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
As a Transport Planner, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our transport operation runs safely, efficiently, and on time.
You’ll be:
- Responsible for assigning collection schedules to drivers in the most cost effective and efficient way whilst ensuring that all collection requests are met for all suppliers
- Planning vehicle movements and managing daily transport operations
- Supporting drivers and operational teams throughout the shift
- Managing rotas and transport resources effectively
- Communicating with farm liaison officers to resolve issues concerning egg supply/collection.
- Responding quickly to operational challenges and customer requirements
- Ensuring compliance with driver regulations and WTD
- Working closely with colleagues to maintain customer/supplier relationships
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency

Shift Pattern
Mon- Fri 7am-4pm (Dependent on business needs)
Salary
Negotiable – based on experience.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
· Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent passes at grade C or above (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English.
- Experience working within transport planning or logistics operations
- Knowledge of drivers’ hours, WTD, and transport compliance
- Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- National or International CPC (preferred but not essential)
