Full job description

Job Summary

Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Receptionist, where your energetic and welcoming presence will set the tone for a positive patient experience. This would be Wednesday, Thursday 8.45am -5.15 pm and Friday 8.45am - 1.45pm. On occasion you may be asked to work at our sister practice Merrifield in Sidmouth on the Friday. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, and administrative tasks with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your proactive attitude will help streamline daily operations, ensuring our clinic runs smoothly and efficiently. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy helping others, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to oral health care excellence.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in procedures to create a friendly atmosphere
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using dental office management software
Answer incoming calls promptly, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately
Manage patient records accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
Collect payments, process insurance claims, and handle billing inquiries with transparency and efficiency
Coordinate communication between patients and dental staff to facilitate smooth treatment flow
Maintain a tidy reception area and ensure all administrative supplies are stocked and organized

Qualifications

Previous office experience or administrative experience in a healthcare setting is highly preferred but not essential
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail for managing schedules and records
Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients and team members
Ability to multitask effectively in a lively environment while maintaining professionalism
Proficiency with office software such as Microsoft Office Suite or dental practice management systems
A friendly demeanor combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving
