Job Title: Solar Installation Site Training and Standards Lead
Purpose of role:
- To install solar PV to the highest standard on a wide range of sites and roof types, across a range of system sizes
- To oversee our solar PV installation (roof works) to allow us to install efficiently and to a high standard
- To help set our installation standards and monitor adherence to these
- To increase our installation efficiency and work to monitor this
- To train and upskill our team with the above, to allow sustainable team growth without impacting quality and efficiency
Essentials:
- Over 5 years experience in roofing, with at least 3 years experience in solar PV installation
- Leadership and/or experience successfully training others
- Strong organisation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service skills
We’re looking for individuals with direct PV or renewables installation experience, who are reliable and trusted to represent the Company well to our customers. Your leadership skills will enable you to consistently ensure your team works safely, to high standards and to timescales. You’ll need excellent communication and people skills, good physical fitness for working outdoors, at height and manual-handling. You’ll have initiative, proactivity and problem-solving skills. We can’t plan for every eventuality, so you need to be able to think on your feet. You’ll need to log data on our mobile-app systems, use MS Teams and emails, practical maths skills, attention to detail and relevant technical knowledge and experience. Ideally, you’ll be qualified/trained in working at heights, asbestos awareness, forklift licence, IPAF, PASMA, use of harnesses at height and have a CSCS card
You’ll need a full UK driving licence, as our teams travel to sites throughout South-west England for installations (and occasionally national travel). An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.
Department: Installation
Working hours: 40 per week, between 7am and 5.30pm Mondays to Fridays but with flexibility required to fit in with site and installation requirements, plus occasional working away for more distant sites.
