Full job description

EuroTech Group is looking for an IT Support Assistant to join our internal IT team and provide day-to-day technical support across our Devon operations. You will work across office and manufacturing environments, resolving user issues, preparing equipment, supporting business systems and helping improve our technology.

This is a hands-on role in a small team rather than a high-volume call-centre helpdesk. It would suit a practical problem-solver who communicates well, takes ownership of issues through to resolution and wants to develop a broad technical skill set.

Working hours

· Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am to 4:45 pm

· Friday: 8:00 am to 12:30 pm

· Friday afternoons off

Key responsibilities

· Provide first- and second-line support, managing helpdesk requests through to resolution

· Diagnose Windows desktop, laptop, software and wired or wireless connectivity issues

· Set up equipment for new starters and manage user accounts, permissions, passwords and access

· Support Microsoft 365, phones, printers, scanners, label printers and other business hardware

· Support remote access and the computers, business systems and production technology used across the company

· Install, configure and update software, and maintain accurate asset records and technical documentation

· Monitor systems and assist with server, backup and network administration under the Group IT Manager's direction

· Investigate recurring problems, implement lasting fixes and escalate infrastructure issues when appropriate

· Assist with equipment replacements, upgrades, cybersecurity, automation, internal applications and other IT projects

· Liaise with external suppliers and help maintain appropriate security standards

What we are looking for

Essential:

· Previous IT support experience or demonstrable equivalent technical knowledge

· A good working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, desktop hardware, user accounts, software troubleshooting, basic networking and IT security

· Methodical problem-solving and clear, patient communication with technical and non-technical colleagues

· The ability to organise and prioritise your workload, work independently and follow issues through to completion

· Comfort working in both office and manufacturing environments

· A valid driving licence and access to reliable transport

Desirable:

· Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, virtual machines or backup systems

· Network switches, routers, firewalls or endpoint security software

· Manufacturing or business systems, or supporting users across multiple sites

· Asset management, network monitoring, automation, scripting or AI tools

You do not need to know every system from day one. We value someone who learns quickly, investigates problems independently and recognises when to escalate.

Development and technology

You will work closely with the Group IT Manager and gain experience beyond day-to-day support through wider improvement projects. Relevant training will be supported, with opportunities to take on more responsibility as your skills grow. We also use AI tools appropriately to investigate problems, automate repetitive work, document systems and develop internal tools; previous AI experience is useful but not essential if you are willing to learn and verify your work.
